This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A ************

Album: V

Year: 2015

Adam Levine has fallen for an unattainable woman in the gratitious  “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A ***********.”)

Crude synths open the single, setting a trashy tone. The chorus opens the single. Every day is going to be torture, knowing whatever he will do his crush won’t notice him. (“This summer's gonna hurt like a *********
Fucker/This summer's gonna hurt like a *********/Fucker.”)

She’s gorgeous. Whenever he looks at her, he has to be shaken out of it by a noise or a friend talking to him. She’s not the most intelligent person in the world, though. She speaks often gets idioms wrong. The most absurd things come out of her mouth. He’s convinced she smokes a lot of marijuana. (“Her body's hot/Her body's like the summer/I'm in a trance or something/Her mind is not, no/As sharp as all her diamonds/She must be smoking something.”)

In the pre-chorus, the last time he hung out with her, she started grinding in the middle of the street. Everyone was trying to pay attention to make sure she didn’t get hit. They continued to the beach where she sat in the chair and ordered a champagne right away. She will only eat prime rib and foie gras. She’s high maintenace. He dreams of being with her, her attention only focused on him. He checks Instagram and scrolls until he sees one of her posts. It’s of one her new Christian Louboutins. It’s her usual – clothes, jeans and accessories. She doesn’t ever share how she’s feeling. (“I see her dancing in the streets/Sipping champagne on the beach/So expensive when she eats/Cause she's so fancy/I see her when I go to sleep/I check my phone when I am weak/She never posts anything deep/Cause she's so fancy.”)

                  The chorus is sung again.

She’s planning a trip to Monte Carlo. She’s going to shop in Beverly Hills. She’s going to drive a Lamborghini. None of this is with her own money. He can’t deal with not having her. Tomorrow, he’s going to unfollow her and ignore her. (“She wants it all/She's always taking something/And now I'm left with nothing/I'm ripping off, oh/I'm ripping off that bandage/Because I just can't stand it.”)

In the second pre-chorus, she’s at the club groping a college student. He looks away and shakes his head. She’s in his mid-thirties like him and clearly is trying way too hard. (“I see her dancing on a fool/Like she's seventeen and cool/She really thinks that she can move/But it's just nasty/I see her when I go to sleep/I check my phone when I am weak/She never posts anything deep/Cause she's so fancy.”)

                    The chorus is sung again.

In the bridge, everyone knows her. Her Instagram is followed by people she doesn’t even know and some celebrities. If there’s an opportunity, she grabs it. (“Has to have it all/Chases every star/She's so popular/Has to have it all/Chases every star/She's so popular/This summer's gonna hurt/It's gonna hurt.”)

The second pre-chorus, now shorteened, is sung. (“I see her dancing in the streets/Sipping champagne on the beac/So expensive when she eats/Cause she's so fancy/Cause she's so fancy.”)

                          The chorus is sung twice.

One final “this summer's gonna hurt like a ***********” is sung to end the single.

Levine kinda likes her but seems repulsed by her at the same time.Really? seems to be the unintended reply after he describes her. It’s tough to be understand her allure when he calls her superficial and a user.

The slimy “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A ***********” thinks because it says summer a lot, it will be the song everyone wants to hear throughout June, July and August. Seriously? Let Adam Lambert have his moment.
